Vision:  Breathing a whole new level of Fellowship and deeper personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and our Church Family.
Purpose:  To connect with our congregation and people, provoking one another unto love for the Lord and to good works.
Being part of a community is so much more than attending large gatherings and slipping in and out of weekly services. Real community is doing life together fulfilling the inner desire to be known, to be loved and to belong. That’s why we launched SVC LifeGroups.

LifeGroups are small groups of people who get together on a regular basis around the city. You might connect because of a shared interest, a study topic, activity or demographic. No matter who you are, we know there is a place for you.

FAQ

WHAT HAPPENS AT A LIFE GROUP MEETING?

You’ve probably seen small groups meeting and not even realized it. A Life Group looks like friends at lunch, teams playing basketball, or people studying a book or topic of interest. At its core, Life Groups are a small gathering of people, and it is less about what you do and more about who you do it with. By participating in a Life Group, you can expect to connect with others through a common activity, engage in life giving conversation and request prayer.

HOW OFTEN DOES A LIFE GROUP MEET?

Our life groups meet for three semesters a year— spring, summer, and fall. During the semester, most groups meet once a week. These groups are meant to bring meaning and community into the flow of your life so even if you can’t attend every, single meeting, there is still great value in joining a group.

WHERE DO LIFE GROUPS MEET?

Life Groups meet in places like homes, parks, restaurants, coffee shops. The leader of the group selects a meeting spot that best fits the purpose of the group. Life Groups happen throughout the city of Calgary and surrounding areas.

HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL LIFE GROUP STAY TOGETHER?

Most life groups meet for a semester. This way, new people can join groups easily and regularly. Also, the semester format allows you to try multiple groups each year. As relationships form, some groups choose to stay together for consecutive semesters, but new members are always welcome.

IS THERE CHILDCARE AVAILABLE?

Childcare availability varies from group to group. Please contact the group leader for more information.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE FIRST GROUP I TRY?

The truth is, not everyone will find the best fit with the first group they try. This is why we encourage you to read up on a few different groups. Contact the leader to ask some questions and get a feel for what to expect. The simple strategy to finding success in small groups is to not give up. We believe there is a group that is right for everyone—including you!
