If you were here on Sunday October 16th in the second service you heard me talk about the huge media focus on the American election.

So much controversy, so much criticism and so many opinions! I mentioned on Sunday that the purpose of the media is not to tell the truth, it’s to make money! Some people think that if the media is reporting it then they must be reporting it right… wrong! Remember that they are businesses that are looking to make a profit. It’s easy to see that negative news generates a lot more profit than positive news because it creates a strong emotional response in the minds of the hearers. If that were not so we would have much more positive news than we recently do.

We know that Satan is the prince of the power of the air which means he thrives in this area of influence and he is out to deceive as many people as possible. Unfortunately, many believers get caught up in the news “feeding frenzy” and begin to make judgments the same way the world does. Don’t do that!

Psalm 37 says “Do not fret because of evildoers… because of the person who brings wicked things to pass, for they shall soon be cut down like the grass…”.

Don’t let your emotions get entangled with the governments of this world and all the bad things they’re doing! Yes we need to pray, and vote and let our voice be heard on issues we feel are important. But no, we don’t need to be worried and fretting about who gets into office and what they’re going to do when they get there. Our kingdom is the eternal one and our King is the ONLY ONE who rules and He will cause His Kingdom and His purposes to come to pass no matter what happens here or in the US.

It’s very obvious to me that we are drawing closer and closer to the fulfillment of the scripture that declares “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of the Lord and of His Christ”! Lets pray THAT into our governments!
